Mileage154,842Service Date11/12/2024Services Performed- technician confirmed customer concern. scanned vehicle and found p0304 misfire cylinder #4. removed ignition coil and spark plug to inspect condition. spark plug was gaped at .053 which was with in specification. tested ignition coil and was producing spark. inspected and tested #4 fuel injector with noid light .fuel injector was receiving signal from ecu. fuel injector is working properly as design. performed compression test and found 10 psi. performed leak down test. result was 20% leakage from piston rings. this finding does not show reason of low compression. removed passenger side valve cover to inspect valve train. once removed technician found rocker arm for exhaust had fallen out of place. rocker arm had some damage to it. technician recommends to replace rocker arm, lifter and valve cover gasket. advised customer about findings. customer approved repairs. After repairs lifter on cylinder #4 had fallen out of place after repairs. removed cylinder head to inspect valvetrain. After inspection found valve was slightly bent. Advised customer of findings. Recommended customer to remove both cylinder heads and perform valve jib and replace bent valve. Customer approved repairs.

2010 Volkswagen CC
Mileage156,543Service Date11/1/2024Services Performed- Opon recieving vehicle on tow truck. customer stated he had taken vehicle to another mechanic to fix his oil leaks. Customer stated the mechanic could not finish customers car and customer took the car from him without finishing the repairs. Customer had explained the mechanic was trying to repair upper and lower timing cover oil leaks. Technician visually inspected engine area and found serpentine belt missing. and signs of oil leaks in timing cover area. Technician pushed car into service bay and inspected under car area. Found front passenger lower ball joint hardware loose and sway bar end link loose a swell. Technician tried starting vehicle, vehicle did not start due to low charge on battery. Jumped battery to get vehicle started and engine turned over but did not start. Installed scanner but not no codes due to low battery. Inspected fuel and ignition to engine. found proper fuel pressure and found spark was present. Performed compression check. Reading are as follows cylinder #1-105 psi #2-0 psi #3-0 psi #4-40 psi. Compression reading are too low or no compression at all. indicating engine damage. Technician performed leak down test on all 4 cylinders and all exhaust valves leaking. Technician recommends tear down to remove timing covers and valve cover to inspect timing chain for timing and valve train for damages. Advised customer of findings and recommendation. customer approved tear down to inspect timing and valvetrain damages. During tear down technician found crank shaft pulley not installed correctly. Due to crank shaft pulley improperly installed, timing for engine was not correct. Causing damage to exhaust valves. Technician also found missing timing guides, debris in oil pan. Technician also found parts of missing timing guides. Technician found crankshaft sprocket and crank shaft pulley damaged.

It was explained to the customer it is a possibility it might have a damaged head gasket. Customer declined diagnostic. Customer requested to continue with other recommended repairs
